Out of an all-round disappointing result, came huge praise for West Ham United midfielder Robert Snodgrass after scoring the opener.

Many of the club’s fans were confused with some of the changes before the game against Sheffield United, so the Scotsman’s return to form was a pleasant surprise.

Snodgrass returned to the starting XI as a central-midfielder and managed to finish the game with a pass success rate of 88%, which is better than fellow Hammers midfielder Mark Noble, who had a success rate of 84% [WhoScored].

The former Scotland international was left out of the team in their 2-0 away loss to Everton last week.

Here’s what some fans had to say about his performance:

Snodgrass is also the Hammers’ main corner taker, taking nine out of the 10 during the match, however, he only managed a corner success rate of 22% [WhoScored].

What Do We Think?

There’s no doubt that Snodgrass should be one of the first names on the team sheet next week, with WhoScored rating the Scottish midfielder 7.6/10.

One person who may not be happy with the former Scotland international’s return to form will be fellow midfielder Pablo Fornals, with the Spaniard playing just 13 minutes against Sheffield United. The summer addition made very little impact when coming on, making only five passes and completing 60% of them [WhoScored].

West Ham’s next game is at home to Newcastle United, which is a game most fans will be expecting to win. Hopefully, Snodgrass can continue his fine form and lead the Hammers to a much needed three points.
