Sam Inkersole’s latest tweet has left many West Ham United fans debating over the best player to put beside Sebastien Haller up top.
Isolated is West Ham’s buzzword right now, leaving many fans to ponder the idea of a two-striker formation.
The Hammers only other natural striker is Albian Ajeti, but he’s yet to have a chance to make an impact as he has played just 20 minutes in the Premier League this season, despite playing three times for Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League A.
Ajeti also has a very disappointing WhoScored average rating of 5.9/10.
Said it in the article, could be time to give Ajeti a go up top with Haller. Worked well with Jovic at Frankfurt, no harm in giving it a try. Which midfielder makes way though? https://t.co/dolNo5Q0wh

Question is, is Ajeti good enough?

3 at the back !!! We have Fredericks and masuaku who are perfect for that formation and are abit suspect in a flat back 4

Haller played second striker behind Jovic in Frankfurt, he created chances for him and ocasionally took them himself. Playing like that Eintracht had one of the most high powered offences in Europe last season. It’s a shame we didn’t keep chicha to play in that Jovic role for us

Got to be the no.10, whether that be Lanzini or Snodgrass or whoever
— Wayne Lloyd-Smith (@WGTLS1984) October 29, 2019
West Ham have scored 12 goals in 10 Premier League games this season, and averaged 49.1% possession – as per WhoScored.
Imo we should play the 442 diamond. Haller and yarmolenko up top. Anderson, Noble, Rice and now snodgrass making up the diamond. Think it would work well with the players available

3-5-2 , yarmo up top with Haller. Anderson Noble Rice in midfield fredricks and masauku wing backs.

Ajeti or Yarmolenko should start up top with Seb next game for sure.

What Do We Think?
If Manuel Pellegrini doesn’t start with a two-striker formation against Newcastle on Saturday, he may want to stay away from Twitter, as this appears to be more in-demand in east London than jellied eels at the moment.
It’s uncertain whether Ajeti is the man to lead the way alongside Haller, but someone has to do it, and by the looks of the comments, the claret and blues fans aren’t too fussed about who that is.
