After a triumphant win over Spurs at the weekend, some Liverpool fans have been reacting to a thoroughly dominant display by Brazilian midfielder Fabinho.
The towering anchor-man controlled Sunday afternoon’s clash at home to Spurs, dictating from deep with composed passing and interceptions. The performance, which garnered a 7.4 Whoscored rating, impressed many fans – who took to Twitter to show their appreciation for Fabinho’s efforts.
It’s been a good week for the player, who celebrated his 26th birthday last Wednesday with victory at Genk. Fans will be hopeful that Fabinho can continue his fine form going forward, after cementing his spot as the sides outright first-choice defensive-midfielder.
Here’s what some supporters had to say:
I thought that Fabinho deserved MOM he was unreal today. #LFC #Fabinho

Some fans were quick to point out how much of a bargain the 26-year-old has been, who signed for £43.7m from Monaco in 2018:

With Liverpool set to play Arsenal in this week’s Carabao Cup tie, Fabinho may be given a well-earned rest, with the player likely to return next weekend, away at Aston Villa.
What we think
The powerful Brazilian international continues to improve game after game, with his ability to control the midfield from deep becoming a crucially important trait to the way Liverpool play. There is no doubt that he is a key starting player when fit, which is a sign of his true quality, in a competitive and incredibly crowded Liverpool midfield.
