Bright Osayi-Samuel could be included for the west London derby game against Brentford on Monday, according to a report by BBC Sport.

The attacker has played seven times this season for Mark Warburton’s side, with his most recent appearance coming in the 3-2 win against Hull City.

In that game, Samuel provided QPR with many supporting runs, as he successfully completed four dribbles. The 21-year-old was also especially useful in the midfield, as he completed 75% of his passes and was only dispossessed once [WhoScored].

In the last six matches between the west London sides, QPR have won just once, with Brentford winning four, with the Bees having won 3-0 the last time these teams met. Although this is a strong rivalry, in the last six games there have been zero red cards.

TIF Tactics – How will Bright Osayi-Samuel affect the team

QPR may have scored half the amount of goals Brentford have in this fixture, but Osayi-Samuel may offer the Hoops some much-needed creativity going forward, as he has managed to produce 1.4 shots and 1.3 key passes per game [WhoScored].

The young Englishman has scored and assisted once in his first seven league games this season. However, he won’t be able to make up the loss of Jordan Hugill’s aerial threat, with the left-midfielder winning only 0.3 duels per game – compared to West Ham United loanee’s 3.5 average [WhoScored].

Osayi-Samuel’s height of just 5ft 7in could be considered one of his only real weaknesses, but at just 20-years-old, he has proved himself to be a solid Championship-level attacker that isn’t afraid to take a man on and has shown that he has the ability to hold possession, which is evident with his average pass success rate of 85.3%.

His potential inclusion could mean that young Irish midfielder Olamide Shodipo will continue to miss out on first-team action, as the 22-year-old has played just once this season for a total of 18 minutes. The attacking midfielder has spent time on loan at Colchester United, where he managed to play six games in League Two. Perhaps another loan spell is needed before he is seen featuring regularly at The Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Hugill, though, will definitely miss out as he is banned for the west London derby after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Reading.
