Tottenham were in absolute cruise control in the first half against Crystal Palace on Saturday as they went in at the break 4-0 ahead courtesy of a brace by Heung-min Son, a Patrick van Aanholt own goal and a strike by Erik Lamela.
However that did not mean that some fans were not out for blood on Twitter with Moussa Sissoko being blasted by a section of supporters for his contribution in the opening 45 minutes.
The former Newcastle midfielder started in the centre of the midfield alongside Harry Winks while Tanguy Ndombele sat on the bench as he nears his full return from a recent injury setback.
And it would seem as though supporters would rather see the new summer signing start over Sissoko as he misplaced several passes in the opening few minutes.
Despite a shaky start, Sissoko was involved in the build-up play for Tottenham’s second and third goals as they dismantled the Palace defence.
However a good number of fans had already been tearing into the France international on Twitter and here are some of their tweets:

Sissoko been Palace's best player, passing to them turning over possession & giving away cheap free kicks to allow them dangerous set pieces, he's genuinely woeful

That there is why Sissoko has no business starting.

Sissoko is absolutely useless against a side like palace

Some fans seem to think that Sissoko has started poorly this season compared to how he did last term, but that is not necessarily true.
Last season, based on WhoScored’s stats, Sissoko averaged more tackles and interceptions per league appearance than he has so far managed this term.
However in the opening weeks of this new campaign the Frenchman has averaged more passes, crosses, long balls, key passes and shots at goal than he did in the 2018/19 Premier League.
He's been SO bad

Sissoko is not playing well this year. Really painful. #THFC

Sissoko definitely threw his weight about in the opening phases of the game.
According to WhoScored, the Frenchman conceded two fouls inside the first 10 minutes, which can be frustrating to watch but he was clearly imposing his presence on the Palace players – and it worked.
