West Brom fans have been going wild for full-back Nathan Ferguson in the early stages of this season.

The 18-year-old made his senior debut against Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the campaign and has since become a mainstay of Slaven Bilic’s side amid injuries to Kieran Gibbs and Conor Townsend.

He was once again on the top of his game on Saturday when West Brom came from behind to draw 1-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage to preserve their unbeaten start in the Championship.

A section of West Brom supporters took to Twitter on Saturday to heap praise on Ferguson for his performance and here is a selection of the tweets below:

We cannot agree more with this next fan.

West Brom ran the risk of losing Rekeem Harper – another academy graduate – in the summer on a free transfer when his contract ran down to the point where it was not renewed until a week after his previous terms expired.

The Express & Star reported last month that Albion want to agree a new deal with Ferguson because his existing contract runs out next summer.

The sooner Luke Dowling gets that done and dusted, the better.

Ferguson was arguably one of the best players on the pitch on Saturday.

According to stats by WhoScored, Ferguson completed five tackles, more than any other player on the pitch and also had 56 touches of the ball, which was more than what any of his team-mates in green and yellow stripes could manage.

Out of West Brom’s players to start the game at Craven Cottage, only Matheus Pereira could match the two successful dribbles that Ferguson made in what was truly a complete display by the young full-back.
