Rangers came from behind to win 3-1 against Livingston at Ibrox on Saturday and a section of fans on Twitter were impressed with what they saw from Steven Davis in the heart of the midfield.

James Tavernier, Brandon Barker and Alfredo Morelos were all on the scoresheet for the Light Blues after an early second-half penalty by Livingston gave the Ibrox faithful a huge scare.

However Steven Gerrard’s side remained in touching distance of Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic with their ramped-up display after going behind, with Davis, according to these fans, playing a key role.

Here is a selection of some of the tweets by Rangers fans who were blown away with what they saw from the 34-year-old midfielder on Saturday:

These Rangers fans believe that Davis should have been named as the man of the match for his performance against Livingston.

Considering he did not get on the scoresheet – and most of the time people vote for those who do – it says a lot about Davis’ display that he was even under consideration to be named as the best player on the pitch at Ibrox.

The 107-times Northern Ireland international’s experience is perhaps what was behind his strong performance.

This next Rangers fan claims that Davis is “the only midfielder earning his pay” in Gerrard’s midfield.

Ryan Jack has been one of the most impressive players at Ibrox this season so far but the former Aberdeen did not feature in the comeback win against Livingston, so hopefully this fan is not including him in that.

Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo weren’t great alongside Davis though, with the former conceding the penalty that led to Livi taking the lead.
