A section of Celtic supporters was blown away by Mohamed Elyounoussi’s performance in the first half of their clash against Hamilton at New Douglas Park on Saturday afternoon.
Elyounoussi, 25, made his first appearance for the Bhoys since moving to Parkhead on loan from Southampton in the summer transfer window after an injury meant that Mikey Johnston was forced to sit out of the match at Hamilton.
It did not take long at all for the Norway international to have an impact on the game when he almost scored before supplying an assist for James Forrest’s opening goal in the fourth minute.
Celtic fans are understandably thrilled with their first glimpse of the Southampton loanee.
Here is a selection of some of their tweets in the first half:
Elyounoussi has been a handful so far. Celtic’s got a cracking player by the looks of it!

These next Celtic fans have already seen enough from Elyounoussi to say that they want the club to splash the cash on signing him on a permanent basis from Southampton.
We need to see a lot more of the Norway attacker before seriously urging Neil Lennon to make a permanent bid for him but so far, the signs have been very promising and fans cannot be blamed for getting a bit carried away.
Elyounoussi will face tougher tests than Hamilton’s defence during his temporary spell at Celtic Park.
Hopefully he can match his performance at New Douglas Park in those kinds of matches.
Sign Elyounoussi permanently

It does seem as though Elyounoussi is already starting to become a bit of a fan favourite among the Parkhead faithful.
He is quick, looked very direct in the first half at Hamilton and that assist for Forrest’s goal is always going to go down well.
Celtic have had their fair share of loan flops over the last couple of seasons but Elyounoussi, at the moment, does not seem as though he’ll fall into that category.
Announce Elyounoussi statue on Celtic way @CelticFC
