Tottenham are in pursuit of Stuttgart centre-back Ozan Kabak, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in signing the 19-year-old, who is available for just £13.2million this summer due to a release clause in his contract.

It is understood that Spurs wanted to sign the “stylish” defender before he joined Stuttgart from Galatasaray in January.

They have since kept tabs on the Turkey youth international and he has re-emerged as a target for the North London club after Stuttgart’s relegation from the Bundesliga was confirmed last week.

Good move for Tottenham?

Cabak has stood out in what has been a miserable season for Stuttgart.

There were major issues at the Mercedes-Benz Arena before his arrival in January and it would be unfair to judge the teenage sensation simply by the fact that he spent half a season with a team that was relegated from the Bundesliga.

The 19-year-old is reportedly good on the ball and “robust in the tackle” which means that he could fit in well with Tottenham’s style of play if Toby Alderweireld was to leave North London this summer.

Cabak has a lot of potential and could go a long way in the game, so considering that he is available for just £13.2million, he would be a solid signing by Tottenham.

Likely to happen?

Tottenham face competition from Arsenal and Man United in the race for Cabak’s signature – but only one of those three teams will be playing in the Champions League next season.

It could give Spurs an edge when it comes to negotiations, but it is way too soon to tell where Cabak will end up in the summer window.
