Tottenham is a potential destination for Roma forward Cengiz Under this summer, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian news outlet claims that Under, 21, has put Spurs on “red alert” after an impressive display for Turkey in their shock 2-0 win against France on Saturday.

Under scored Turkey’s second goal in the Euro 2020 qualifier and that has gained attention from Tottenham, and North London rivals Arsenal.

It is understood that Roma are prepared to cash in on the former Basaksehir attacker this summer and will demand up to £35.6million for his signature.

Good move for Tottenham?

Under was in great form for Roma last summer and if Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign a young, up-and-coming wide-forward to add an extra option to his attack, the Turkey international would be a solid addition.

The 21-year-old scored six goals and supplied 11 assists in 33 appearances across all competition for Roma last season.

His form in the Champions League group stages, where he scored three goals, helped the Serie A side reach the knock-out stages, before they were knocked out by Porto with the Spurs target sidelined due to injury.

Spurs’ priority this summer should be to replace those who leave and add some extra quality to pretty much all positions.

And Under, who can play on both the right and left flank, could be a top signing.

Likely to happen?

While Spurs are a potential destination for Under, according to Calcio Mercato, it is still early in the summer and a lot can happen in the coming weeks in regards to the forward’s future at Roma.

He does seem like he might leave the Stadio Olimpico with Roma reportedly ready to let him go, but at the moment, it’s difficult to see anything concrete about Spurs’ interest.
