The agent of Rangers winger Eros Grezda has confirmed that he will sit down with club bosses to sort out his client’s future this summer.

The 24-year-old never really sparked into life at Ibrox after a £2million move from Croatian outfit Osijek last summer, suffering with injuries and struggling to make the breakthrough with Steven Gerrard’s side.

Now, agent Ives Cakarun has provided an update: “There is interest in him but let’s see,” he told Press Association Sport, via the Daily Record. “He’s frustrated because he got injured twice. But he likes Rangers , he likes Glasgow, so let’s see.

“He’s playing for the national team next week so after that we will talk with the club. He will be happy if he has to stay with Rangers but if not, this is life you know. He still has a contract with Rangers and really at the moment I cannot give any concrete answers. We will make the decision with the coach.”

OPINION

Yeah, it just never really happened for Grezda at Rangers, did it? He was brought in with a fairly big reputation and is obviously an established international with Albania. However, injuries stymied his progress in Glasgow and he never really recovered. There were flashes of potential at times, but not enough over the course of the campaign to really become a fixture in Gerrard’s plans. Clearly the player himself is frustrated with how his debut season in Scotland went, and so will sit down with the manager to receive some clarity on his future. Whether the Liverpool legend will decide to ship him out after just one season or not remains to be seen, although you’d think that would be slightly harsh. Surely it’s best to give him a full pre season to get fit before seeing what he can do next time round. You can always sell him in January if it doesn’t pan out.
