Lennon is considering welcoming Henrik Larsson or Johan Mjallby back to Celtic in order to complete his backroom staff, according to the Scottish Sun.

The newspaper claims that Neil Lennon has written up a shortlist in which both feature on to fill a senior coaching role at the club as they look to win their ninth Scottish title in a row next season.

Club legend Larsson enjoyed a terrific spell at the Hoops, scoring 242 goals in a seven-year career at the club, and became close friends with Lennon who also played at Celtic at the same time.

Another on the shortlist, Mjallby, has already been a coach under Lennon during their spells at Bolton and previously at Celtic Park.

Mjallby also enjoyed a great spell at Celtic as a player, making 144 appearances for the club in a coveted six-year spell where he won the League title three times, while also reaching a UEFA Cup final.

OPINION

Celtic fans will be relishing the chance to welcome Henrik Larsson back to the club after so long. The Swede became a hero at Celtic Park during his playing days and should Lennon be able to bring him back, the Hoops faithful will be watering at the mouth to see what he could bring out of their attacking players. Mjallby would also be an inspired move by Lennon, as he already knows what it takes to succeed in a coaching role, both under Lennon and more specifically at Celtic. His previous experience in bringing success under Lennon would only propel Celtic into an even better situation on and off the pitch. Either way, Lennon goes in this search for a new coach, he will be on to a winner with both Larsson and Mjallby having had previous at Celtic, they will know exactly what it takes to prepare the Hoops for a monumental push for a ninth title in a row.
