COMMENTARY
Some Wolves fans were left amused after it was reported by Telegraph journalist John Percy on Twitter that Aston Villa had triggered their option to sign defender Kortney Hause on a permanent basis. Percy claimed that the fee was thought to be around the £3million mark, and yet it seems that while it sounds a low amount, Wolves fans were amused that their rivals were attempting to sign him. Hause spent his 2018/19 campaign on loan at Villa in the Championship, making 14 appearances in the process. Yet despite not establishing himself as a first-team regular when featuring for them in the Championship, it hasn’t apparently stopped Villa being keen to have them in their Premier League squad next season. While the Villans do still need to agree personal terms with the defender in order to complete a deal, it’s not like Wolves fans are going to stand in their way by pleading with the player not to go. One Wolves fan claimed that the Villans were planning for life in the Championship rather than then the Premier League, while another suggested that Villa were only signing the 23-year-old as they know they will be relegated.
