The 20-year-old midfielder is a product of the club’s youth academy, and is a youth international for Cyprus.

OPINION

This is brilliant news for Tottenham. Roles is one of the hottest prospects in the club’s academy, and he has the potential to be a really special player. It looked for a little while as if he had perhaps gone off the boil slightly, but his form this season, capped with a hat trick against Derby County U23s in his last game of the campaign, has been exemplary. At 20, you would hope that he is on the cusp of making the step up to first team football next season, and the fact that the club have handed him a new deal, and that others such as Oliver Skipp have already made the progression, will surely give him hope of doing just that. If Roles grows into the player that he has promised to be throughout his youth career, he could be a very important player for Spurs in the future. He now has his chance to prove he is ready.
