Everton fans amused by Digne/Rose report

COMMENTARY

Many Everton fans were left amused by the Daily Mirror reporting that the Toffees had given their demands to Tottenham regarding Lucas Digne. The newspaper claimed that Spurs were keen on signing the Toffees left-back, with Mauricio Pochettino prepared to use some of the club’s Champions League winnings on him, and in turn had been told what it would take to get him. The Mirror didn’t state how much exactly the Toffees would demand for Digne but stated the club wanted any deal to include Danny Rose. Upon hearing this, many Toffees fans responded with gifs of laughter as well as messages of sheer disbelief. One Toffees fan suggested the Mirror’s report couldn’t be right as the club would surely value Digne as being £200million given the current market. While that seems outrageous, it does highlight how important Digne is to Everton. The 25-year-old left-back scored four goals, while assisting five, in his 37 outings in his latest season and he was an sensation.
