Everton have endured a turbulent few years of Premier League football to say the least, with their failure to attract top-class forwards to the club really halting their progress.

Ever since Romelu Lukaku left the club to join Manchester United in 2017, they have failed to replace him with a genuinely quality hitman who can score constant goals – with the Toffees being over reliant on Brazilian Richarlison in the last 12 months.

Marco Silva, along with Marcel Brands, seems ready to launch offers to secure top attacking talent this summer, which would be a welcome piece of news as Everton need to start pushing for those European qualifications spots after their recent expenditure.

Reputable football outlet Football Insider report that the club have begun talks with Lyon over the potential £25million signing of winger Bertrand Traore who would be a great introduction to take over from the ageing Theo Walcott.

Traore would hopefully be a sign of things to come with another striker definitely needed on top of that to transform Silva’s side. The 49-cap Burkina Faso international offers a wealth of experience at the young age of 23-years-old and started his career in the Premier League with Chelsea.

The starlet’s career was reignited by Lyon after a spell of disappointing loans and the winger must be determined to show the Premier League his true colours in a second spell.

Everton would be the perfect club to do that at.

Scoring 11 and assisting five goals in his 48 appearances, Traore’s pure pace and flair would fit perfectly at the Toffee’s who could complete a frightening attacking three with Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison.

Everton must secure their man now and finally put to rest their goalscoring issues, with Traore being the perfect man to kick start their summer business.
