Chelsea are preparing to announce that they’re parting with current manager Maurizio Sarri in the coming days, according to The Times

The paper claim that the Italian is thought to be on his way to Juventus in the near future, and the Blues are just waiting to reach an agreement with the Italian club over buying out the final year of Sarri’s £5million contract.

The Times report that Sarri was in talks with the club on Friday, continuing into the weekend, and both parties agreed that his departure after less than a year in the job was the best outcome.

Juventus have been in search to replace Massimiliano Allegri, and it seems that Sarri is their main target after the unavailability of Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino.

OPINION

It may seem a little ludicrous in the eyes of some Chelsea fans that the club are ready to part ways with a manager who has won them a Europa League title in his first season, however it has seemed all season that there has been an ongoing uncertainty surrounding the Italian at Stamford Bridge. Although Sarri’s first season in charge of the Blues should no doubt be considered a success with regards to trophies and Premier League form, it seems that it may have been a failure when winning over the Chelsea faithful is concerned. Sarri would be a good fit for life at Juventus, after managing for the most part of his career in his home country, but the question still remains as to who Chelsea would bring in to replace him should he leave. It seems like Sarri leaving is highly likely now, and this would mean Chelsea must bring in some form of replacement before the new season, and the Chelsea board will have a huge decision to make to follow on from the Italian.
