Olivier Ntcham has revealed to friends that he wishes to quit Celtic this summer, according to Football Insider.

The reputable football outlet claim that the 23-year-old is hoping for a move back to France after becoming unsettled in Scotland amid rumours that Marseille are interested in the midfielder.

Football Insider report that Ntcham will look for a move away in this transfer market and that Neil Lennon has admitted that £7million is a realistic valuation of the midfield ace. This is after it was first claimed the Scottish champions would demand double that fee.

Ntcham has endured a poor season at Celtic Park, only making 16 league appearances for the club, and only scoring three goals.

OPINION

With each passing day, it becomes more likely that Olivier Ntcham will be leaving Celtic. One way or another, the Frenchman seems determined to move back to his home country, and this latest revelation only adds fuel to the fire. The link to Marseille will only add more motivation for the 23-year-old, who will see this as his big chance to return to France and attempt to make a name for himself in Ligue 1. Celtic fans will not be against the idea of losing Ntcham, who has failed to deliver after a great first season at Celtic Park, their only disappointment will be at the reported fee. When £15million was first mentioned for his signature, many of the Hoops’ fans will have snatched at the chance to take that much profit, and although the reported £7million still offers profit, everyone can guess which the club would prefer. If the deal gets completed quickly, Celtic will get rid of a player who doesn’t want to be at the club and receive a fee that would allow Lennon to replace him with numerous midfield options.
