Andy Halliday has urged Rangers to confirm Ryan Kent’s return to Ibrox.

The Daily Mail has reported that the Light Blues are closing in on a deal to sign Kent, 22, on a second loan spell from Liverpool after he impressed in the Scottish Premiership last season under the leadership of Steven Gerrard.

Ibrox ace Halliday clearly cannot wait to team up with the English attacker once again, and has hopped onto Rangers’ official Instagram account to say “announce Kent”.

The Scottish Sun have quoted Halliday on their website.

OPINION

Who can blame Halliday for wanting Kent back? Everyone associated with Rangers wants to see the PFA young player of the year seal his return to the blue side of Glasgow this summer after a superb 2018/19 campaign. Kent scored six goals and supplied nine assists in 43 appearances across all competitions last season and while those numbers don’t exactly jump off the page, every fan who watched the winger play know that there was more about him than just his goal stats. Kent influenced play whenever he played, he always gave 100 per cent and you can tell that he is someone who loved playing for Rangers and didn’t let the jersey be too heavy for him. If Gerrard can re-sign Kent this summer then that would give the Gers a boost in their bid to win silverware next term. That has to be the aim for Rangers now, even if it is just a Scottish League Cup, they need to win something and stop Celtic going for four domestic trebles in a row.
