Adrian Durham has claimed that Tottenham should sign Kylian Mbappe.
The French superstar has hit 39 goals in all competitions this season for PSG, and Durham believes that now is the perfect time for Spurs to make a signing of his magnitude.
According to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, as translated by The Sun, the World Cup winner has told the French champions that he wishes to leave the club.
And speaking on talkSPORT, Durham claimed that north London should be his next destination.
He said: “Tottenham have had two windows where they haven’t spent, they’ve got a stadium that’s bringing in guaranteed revenues for decades to come.
“This is the best time that Tottenham could go out and sign a stellar player like Kylian Mbappe.
“They finished top four so they got Champions League. They just got to a Champions League final. They’re holding onto their manager. They’ve got Harry Kane.
“Why on earth are they not going out there and saying ‘were sorry we haven’t signed anybody in the last two windows, but this is what we’ve been building up to, here’s Kylian Mbappe’?
“If they sell the naming rights to their stadium, that alone will pay for Kylian Mbappe.”

OPINION
This is a massive claim from Durham, but it may not be as ridiculous as it initially appears. For one thing, Mbappe is supposedly looking to leave PSG. If that is true then there are only a handful of clubs who could realistically afford him. Sure, it would be a stretch, but you would assume that Spurs could just about do enough to find the funds if they desperately wanted to. On top of that, most of the other clubs who would be looking at his signature would have to seriously consider Financial Fair Play before they did so. Spurs, having failed to sign anybody in the last two transfer windows, wouldn’t have that issue. As Durham rightly points out as well, the club are on a high right now. With a Champions League final under their belt, the best stadium in the world completed, and one of the brightest managers in the modern game at the helm, they are an attractive proposition. It will never happen, of course, but it’s not the worst idea in the world.
