Leeds have made an approach to take Juventus striker Stephy Mavididi on loan next season, according to TeamTalk

They’re just one of a clutch of teams who have asked the Italian giants if they can have the former Arsenal forward this summer.

Mavididi moved to Juventus from north London last summer in a deal worth £1.8million after he failed to breakthrough into the Arsenal first-team.

The 21-year-old impressed enough with the Juventus Under-23s last season to get his full Serie A debut in a 2-1 defeat against S.P.A.L towards the end of the campaign.

Good move for Leeds?

Yes. We watched a fair bit of Mavididi at Arsenal and we were surprised when he didn’t get a chance with the first-team. He was capped up to the England Under-20s and headed off to Italy to try and re-start his career. That’s met with some success as he made his Serie A debut, although he didn’t score and Juventus lost to mid-table side S.P.A.L. Leeds need new attackers and Mavididi can play through the centre as a traditional striker or on the left wing. That would fit with what Leeds are looking for and if they can work out a deal with his wages he could be a great signing.

Likely to happen?

Leeds face a lot of competition for his signature and there aren’t even any guarantees that Juventus will want to send him out. Everton, Newcastle, Southampton, Burnley, Aston Villa, Derby, Fulham and Middlesbrough have all been credited with an interest, but we think the Championship would be the perfect training ground for him, and Leeds would probably be able to give him decent game-time if he can find his feet quickly. And Bielsa has got to hold a decent amount of clout with teams like Juventus.
