OPINION
Celtic supporters have taken to Twitter to express their concern after the club had an offer rejected by Motherwell for promising midfield David Turnbull, according to BBC Sport. Turnbull is exactly the sort of young and promising player that Celtic should be looking to recruit during the summer transfer window, and the 19-year-old is the type of player that Neil Lennon could develop into an excellent performer at Celtic Park. However, as Celtic supporters suggest the club will need to swiftly increase their offer if they are to avoid missing out on Turnbull, in a similar situation to what with John McGinn when he joined Aston Villa last summer. However, given the transfer window has only just recently opened Lennon’s side will have plenty of time to negotiate potential deals, so there is no need to panic about having a bid rejected at this stage. Some Celtic supporters are also criticising the club’s transfer policy over their approach to bidding for players they want to sign, and the club will be needing to show they are able to offer what Motherwell are wanting to secure Turnbull’s signature this summer.
