Aston Villa supporters have taken to Twitter to heap praise on the club’s potential move to sign winger Anwar El Ghazi on a permanent deal from French side Lille on a four-year deal, according to Dutch source VTBL. El Ghazi played a pivotal role in Aston Villa’s promotion to the Premier League through the Championship play-offs, and Villa supporters are rightly in awe of the report that he might be returning to Villa Park on a permanent deal. The winger’s permanent arrival would be a real boost to Dean Smith’s side ahead of their first season back in the English top flight, with Albert Adomah being released this summer and potentially leaving the club light in the wide areas. It will be interesting to see whether the winger can make the step up to the Premier League, but Villa fans will be hopeful that he can replicate his end of season form for the club in the top flight last term. If El Ghazi can display the form he showed in the second half of last season he would be an excellent addition for their hopes of re-establishing themselves back in the top division after a three year absence.
