COMMENTARY
The Aston Villa board may be wondering if they’ve made a mistake regarding their decision to let defender Mitchell Clark leave, based on how many Villans fans despaired over the thought of him packing his bags. The Birmingham Mail reported on Friday morning that the 20-year-old right-back had been released by the club, before the player confirmed the news via his Twitter account. Upon seeing Clark’s tweet, some Villa fans shared how gutted they were while others were quick to label the decision to let him go as baffling. It’s not surprising that Villans fans are sad and confused over Clark as for a long-time he was regularly tipped to be one to watch. Yet after featuring just one time for the senior side, clearly the powers that be believe it’s time that he tried his luck somewhere else. Clark has had a successful loan spell at Port Vale this season and you feel that he’ll be okay as a result. The right-back has impressed for the League Two side, and clubs will no doubt come calling.

All the best Mitch… Not well chuffed with Suso & Co just now ? If they replace home grown lads with a load of purchases just be repeating the same stupid error ever since Doug Ellis left the building IMHO… Hope you smash it going forward ??? #AVFC #OneOfOurOwn
