COMMENTARY
Aston Villa went into the break against Derby County in the Championship play-off final with the score 1-0 in their favour, but it was clear some fans were still frustrated. Some Villans supporters appeared to be frustrated as they wasted no time in destroying Albert Adomah for his display in the first-half with them clearly deeming it not good enough. In fact one fan went as far as to call the player a waste of a jersey. The 31-year-old didn’t do overly too much wrong in the first-half although some of his crosses were high and wide. Given that the play-off final is destined to be decided on the finest of margins, perhaps Adomah’s poor crosses will come back to haunt Dean Smith’s side and some fans know it. It was odd of Smith to opt to start the experienced winger on Monday as he hasn’t been in the best form as of late. In fact Adomah was woeful in the semi-final of the play-offs against West Bromwich Albion, with his performance being capped off by an awful penalty miss.
