OPINION
Diogo Jota has been a solid performer for Wolves this season in his first season in the Premier League. The Portuguese struggled initially in the opening few months of the season, with Nuno Espirito Santo electing to use him as one of the wide forwards in a 3-4-3 formation in the early weeks of the campaign. However, since Santo switched to a 3-5-2 formation, with Jota partnering Raul Jiminez upfront, the former Atletico Madrid striker has been in excellent form. Jota has scored nine Premier League goals so far this season, for a Wolves side who are chasing a 7th placed finish and secure potential qualification for the Europa League next season, and he was once again a key figure as Wolves won 1-0 against already relegated Fulham. However, he was involved in a moment of controversy, when he appeared to go down too easily in the box after dribbling through Fulham players. On another day Jota could well have had a hat-trick having missed some decent opportunities, including missing from close range early in the second half. However, that aside he was again one of Wolves’ key players and will be looking to extend his form into next season.
