What has happened to Rekeem Harper? He burst onto the scene earlier this season but the longer his contract situation at West Brom rumbled on, the worse he has looked. It’s poor management by West Brom to let Harper’s contract get to this point but the midfielder has to be held to account for his sub-par performances lately. Harper looked uninterested in West Brom’s 3-1 defeat to Derby at Pride Park on Sunday. The youngster was static in the midfield and fans seem to be linking his performances with his contract situation and likening him to ex-Albion badboy Saido Berahino. It’s very harsh to compare the two because one was trying to force his way out of the club by refusing to play, but the other just seems to have his game affected by off-field matters. He’s still young and hopefully West Brom do get him signed on a new contract.
