Tottenham have made an offer to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Le10Sport.
The French news outlet claims that Ndombele, 22, also has “proposals” from Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus, but it appears as though Spurs are leading the race to sign the France international at this stage.
It is understood that with Euro 2020 taking place at the end of next season, Ndombele sees North London as somewhere he can play regularly to boost his chances of getting in the France squad.
Le10Sport adds that the midfielder is also a fan of the style of football that Mauricio Pochettino employs.
Good move for Tottenham?
Ndombele would be the perfect replacement for Mousa Dembele, who left Tottenham in the January transfer window.
Pochettino needs to add some extra strength in depth to his central midfield options and even though Moussa Sissoko has played well this season, Ndombele has to be seen as an upgrade on the former Newcastle man.
He has played well for Lyon this term, appearing 45 times across all competitions while the Ligue 1 club went unbeaten in the Champions League group stages and reached their current third-placed spot in the French top-flight.
The ex-Amiens ace is big, powerful, good on and off the ball and could slot perfectly into Pochettino’s system.

Likely to happen?
Ndombele seems like the kind of player who is putting his future ahead of money at this stage because even though Spurs cannot compete with the finances of say PSG and Man United, they appear to be beating them in the chase for the central-midfielder.
It may be a costly move for Spurs though and that could be what puts Daniel Levy off sealing the deal.
Bleacher Report claimed in February that Ndombele is valued at a whopping £70million by Lyon.
If Spurs can whittle that asking-fee down to less than £50million then there’s a chance they can get their man.
