Fulham winger Ryan Sessegnon wants to join Tottenham in the summer transfer window and the North London club could make a “formal approach” to sign the 18-year-old after the Champions League final, according to the London Evening Standard.

The newspaper claims that Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all interested in the England Under-21, but Spurs is his preferred destination and they might make a move for the Craven Cottage ace after their showdown with Liverpool in Madrid on June 1.

It is understood that Fulham want £40million for Sessegnon, even though his contract expires next year, but Spurs only want to spend £25million.

The Evening Standard adds that a compromise should be reached by the two London clubs.

Good move for Tottenham?

Mauricio Pochettino has worked wonders with English players during his time at Tottenham and even though Sessegnon has not had a great season at Fulham, it is clear that he is not yet the finished article and could be turned into a top-class player by the Argentine.

Sessegnon has a lot of potential and it is no surprise to see some top clubs interested in signing the in-demand winger, who can also play at left-back.

It remains to be seen what sort of role Pochettino sees Sessegnon playing in North London but his versatility on the left flank is bound to be a major reason as to why Spurs want him so bad.

Likely to happen?

If Sessegnon has his heart set on signing for Tottenham despite interest from other clubs, then he is bound to head to North London at some point in the summer unless a head-turning offer is made from elsewhere.

Spurs have been long-term admirers of the highly-rated teenager and everything suggests that he will be their player by the time next season starts.
