Rangers won’t give Celtic a guard of honour in the Old Firm clash at Ibrox, according to the Scottish Sun, and Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react.

The news is perhaps not surprising and while some fans have reacted negatively, with one calling calling Rangers “Bitter, unsporting and classless”, others have reacted very differently.

One said that it was “brilliant” and a “bonus” as it was proof that Rangers’ pain was ongoing. Another said, “Haha, magic. It’s eating them up.”

We would have liked to see a guard of honour but we couldn’t see it happening. The bad blood between the clubs is probably as bad as it’s ever been at the moment.

Ticket restrictions mean that hardly any Celtic supporters will be at Ibrox n Sunday, which would have meant a stadium full of Ibrox fans having to watch the ignominy of their players paying respect to Celtic.

Instead, and despite the fact that the game’s effectively a dead rubber, we’re expecting the game to be every bit as explosive as the last Old Firm clash, that saw Alfredo Morelos and Andy Halliday sent off, and Ryan Kent hit with retrospective action.

Scott Brown was at the centre of all the controversy and he could well be a marked man again.
