Graham Roberts has taken a swipe at Sky Sports after Tottenham’s spot in the top-four was all but sealed on Sunday when Arsenal drew 1-1 with Brighton.

Spurs legend Roberts has regularly hit out at Sky Sports for being biased against his former club, and he believes that the lack of Manchester United and Arsenal in the Champions League next season is something that will not go down well with the broadcasting company.

“Sky Sports News will be gutted that have qualified for the Champions League next season and Man United and Arsenal have failed,” said Roberts via his personal Twitter account.

BT Sport will broadcast Champions League football next season, so it is unclear why Sky would care who qualifies for Europe’s top tournament.

OPINION

Why is Roberts so anti-Sky? Football fans of all clubs think that everyone is biased against them in some way or another but that simply isn’t the case. If everyone is biased against everyone, doesn’t that just cancel everything out? If you ask a Liverpool or Arsenal fan who the top-six media darlings are, they’ll likely say Tottenham because they have an abundance of England internationals and popular players like Heung-min Son and Moussa Sissoko. We’re not sure why Sky Sports would care who has qualified for the Champions League and who has qualified for the Europa League because they won’t be broadcasting any of those matches next season with BT Sport tying up the rights to those competitions until the end of the 2020/21 campaign. Roberts should forget about Sky and just celebrate the moment. Tottenham have not had their top-four spot confirmed but their far superior goal difference makes it almost sealed.
