Rangers are in the hunt to sign three Liverpool players in the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claimed via their live transfer blog on Wednesday [06:47pm] that Steven Gerrard wants to sign Ryan Kent for a second season due to the success that the winger has enjoyed at Ibrox this term.

It is understood that Gerrard is also eyeing loan deals to sign Ben Woodburn and Curtis Jones.

Good move for Rangers?

All three of these players play in similar positions so Gerrard appears to be casting a wide net ahead of the summer transfer window as he aims to once again use his links to Liverpool to bolster his squad at Ibrox.

Signing Kent for another season is an absolute no-brainer.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that the Reds want over £12million for the English winger, which just shows how good he has been while on loan in Scotland this season.

Woodburn, 19, and Jones, 18, would also be good additions for Rangers but both are less proven than Kent.

Wales international Woodburn had miserable spell on loan at Sheffield United before returning to Merseyside this season while Jones has only ever made one senior appearance.

Likely to happen?

The Mirror’s report says that Gerrard is well aware of it being hard to sign all three players, and given the fact that they all play in similar positions, it would be a shock if Rangers were to sign all of the trio.

Kent’s return could happen after he admitted it was a “possibility” on Wednesday, but Woodburn and Jones are good back-up options.

One of them could head to Ibrox, but not more than one.
