COMMENTARY
Josh Cullen starred for Charlton as they overcame Doncaster Rovers on penalties to reach the League One play-off final on Friday and it seems that many West Ham supporters sat up and took notice. The 23-year-old Hammers midfielder has been on loan at Charlton this season and has had a fantastic campaign as a result. Cullen has scored two goals, while assisting six, in the 33 outings he has made across all competitions. In fact the midfielder has wowed so much, particularly on Friday against Doncaster, that a section of Hammers fans wanted him back at the London Stadium. One West Ham supporter claimed that Manuel Pellegrini’s side were crying out for a box-to-box midfielder just like Cullen while another claimed the 23-year-old would be the next Mark Noble. It’ll be interesting to see if the midfielder gets an opportunity to impress in pre-season when he returns to the London Stadium, as you wonder if impressing in League One will be enough to grab Pellegrini’s attention.
