Declan Rice sent West Ham goalkeeper Nathan Trott a message on Instagram after the shot-stopper revealed what he thought his best save of the season was.

Trott took to his personal Instagram on Saturday to highlight the save he made against Liverpool while featuring for the Hammers’ U-23 in a Premier League 2 fixture earlier in the season.

The 20-year-old goalkeeper posting the video of his save prompted Rice to heap praise on his teammate as he claimed it was the “fakest” he’d seen.

Rice also added the heart-eyed emoji as well as the flame emoji to his four-word message to highlight how impressed he was.

“The fakest I’ve seen,” wrote Rice via his Instagram account.

OPINION

Trott’s save against Liverpool is impressive and no wonder Rice took a moment to drool over it. The 20-year-old keeper is yet to feature for the Hammers’ first-team but it wouldn’t be surprise if that changed sooner rather than later. Trott looks to have a bright future at the London Stadium given the fact he signed a new long-term deal earlier this year. Trott has been regularly featuring for the Hammers’ U-23s this season, he has made 15 appearances, and he is no doubt looking to make the step up to senior football sooner rather than later. With this in mind, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Trott is loaned out to a Championship or League One side for his 2019/20 campaign in order to pick up some vital experience. The 20-year-old could benefit from a temporary move away from the club as it would see him fulfil even more of his vast potential if all goes to plan.
