Adrian Durham is no stranger to taking a dig at Tottenham but he should be sweating that his latest cheap jab at Spurs will soon return to haunt him.

The talkSPORT broadcaster alongside Darren Gough conducted a poll on Twitter during their radio show on Wednesday to ask who was the biggest club in London.

And in typical Durham fashion, Spurs weren’t even made an option; even though there was enough space for West Ham.

A Hammers side who weren’t in a European competition this season and finished 10th in the Premier League, which is notably six places behind Spurs.

Of course some Tottenham fans rightly noted that Durham had appeared to take a dig at their club by ignoring them as an option, and they clearly made their voices heard.

Durham referenced that some Spurs fans had got “upset” over the poll when revealing the results at the end of his show but instead of saying it was a mistake, he took a dig by saying their club would haven’t won the poll anyway as clearly bitter rivals Arsenal would have.

“So let’s run down the polls, which is the biggest club in London, Arsenal, West Ham or Chelsea and a lot of Spurs fans got upset but even if we had included them they wouldn’t have won it,” said Durham on talkSPORT (Wednesday May 29th, 18:59).

“Arsenal won it 47%.”

Given that the Gunners following this poll went on to lose 4-1 to Chelsea in the Europa League final later that night, Durham may be worrying his remarks will be remembered.

Arsenal didn’t exactly play like the biggest club in London as they were brushed aside by the Blues and they were playing in the the Europa League, which isn’t recognised as the leading knockout tournament in Europe.

The Champions League is.

And it just so happens that Tottenham are set to be in the final of that competition when they face Liverpool on Saturday.

If Spurs beat the Reds on Saturday in the Champions League final surely they should be deemed the biggest club in London.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be undeniably seen as the champions of Europe and it’s not like Spurs don’t have an illustrious history to go alongside Saturday’s potential trophy win.

With that in mind, Durham should be sweating about his latest cheap dig at Spurs as if they do win Champions League, he is certainly going to look foolish.
