Newcastle United fans are not normally ones to get too excited over transfer reports as normally there’s not may positive ones, or believable ones, yet many Magpies supporters couldn’t help but rave about the idea that Loris Benito was on his way to St James Park. The Sun previously reported that the 27-year-old left-back was a summer transfer target for Rafa Benitez and then The Sun followed that claim up by stating that the defender was potential on his way for talks with the Magpies after jetting into London on Monday. Benito’s contract with Young Boys is set to expire shortly and with him being a free agent, it seems believable that the Magpies might be at least tempted to sign him. The defender had an impressive 2018/19 campaign at Young Boys as he featured 49 times; racking up six assists in the process. When you consider this, and the Magpies need for a new left-back as they don’t have many options; one Magpies fan below claimed it would be a great signing to make.
