Respected journalist Guillem Balague has moved quickly to reassure Man City fans after a shock story broke linking Pep Guardiola with a move to Juventus.
He claims that there is “no truth” in the story at all and that Pep “Is staying at Man City”.
He added that there was also no truth in the report that a new contract was being discussed either.
Balague made the claim on his personal Twitter page on Wednesday morning.
On Pep and Juve. He is staying at @ManCity. No idea where the stories come from, but no truth in them.
In fact, it was published he was in Malpensa, when actually at that point he was on the bus in Manchester!
By the way, no truth in a new contract being discussed either. pic.twitter.com/k2EizBhmMs

OPINION
The whole Pep to Juventus story seemed way too crazy to be true. Balague has impeccable sources and this would seemingly put a lid on one of the oddest rumours so far this summer. Pep has just won the domestic treble with Man City, with a team heralded as possibly the very best the Premier League has ever seen. He hasn’t won the Champions League with them though and that will be next on his hit-list. We doubt that many Man City fans were actually worried about the reports but this will reassure them that the all-conquering Pep will still be at the Etihad next season. Man City have been absolutely stunning under Pep and they retained the Premier League title this season, despite being pushed all the way by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who finished second with 97 points. Liverpool fans might be disappointed to hear this news – it could have been their best shot at winning the 19/20 Premier League title.
