Everton defender Yerry Mina is set to be at the heart of a probe from the Football Association over his off-field activities, according to Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers.
The broadcast reporter claims on his personal Twitter account that the Colombian colossus, who stands at 6’4″ tall (source: Transfermarkt), will be investigated for a video which has surfaced of him promoting a betting agency in his home country.
@Everton defender Yerry Mina will be asked for his observations by the FA after a video appeared of him promoting a betting company in his home country, Colombia. A decision will then be taken whether or not to put the issue to an Independent disciplinary Commission.

It is stated that the probe could lead to the FA putting the issue forward to an independent disciplinary commission, with rules stating that there is a worldwide ban on footballers betting on football or sharing inside information for betting purposes.
Opinion
Mina should not have been as naive to think that getting involved in advertising a betting company would not raise a lot of red flags. His representatives should also have been on the ball to avoid what could prove to be a messy situation for all involved. It remains to be seen whether he has actually breached any rules and whether the breach is deemed to be serious enough for further punishment. There is no suggestion that he has been involved in betting, only that he was used to advertise the agency, and so it might just be a slap on the wrist. We have seen footballers pick up some serious punishments for their involvement in betting so Everton and the player best hope he has a decent case to explain his conduct. Otherwise the Toffees could be missing a giant player – both figuratively and literally in Mina’s case – for quite some time.
