If it was ever in doubt, Mauricio Pochettino has surely proven once and for all this season that he is one of the best managers in world football.

Having not signed anybody for two transfer windows, and after seeing his side flounder through their first three matches of the Champions League group stage, to now be just one game away from biggest prize in club football is nothing short of astonishing.

Add to that the fact that he has secured Champions League football for another season, and it is easy to see why he is so highly thought of in north London.

The prospect of losing him, therefore, is enough to fill any Spurs fan with dread.

After being linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid earlier in the year, Pochettino has recently been touted as a possible candidate for the vacant manager’s position at Juventus, as reported by Calcio Mercato.

It’s easy to see why. His achievements on a relatively limited budget are to be admired, and for all they stand on the brink of European glory, Spurs are still viewed as one notch beneath the elite sides in the continental game.

But according to club legend Paul Miller, who scored in the final when Spurs lifted the UEFA Cup back in 1984, there is nothing to be worried about.

Speaking to the Sun, he said: “There’s no uncertainty. Mauricio is not going anywhere.

“If he was, I think Real Madrid was going to be the one. Mauricio is already getting £10million a year, and he’s not about money, anyway.

“He’s a very passionate, open man who wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s tactile, he cuddles you, he’s warm — but you know that if you **** with him, he’ll kill you.”

Miller seems absolutely adamant about Pochettino’s future, and that should fill Spurs fan with plenty of hope.

The former defender still has an inside track at the club, and if he says something with this much conviction, you can all but guarantee it is true.

Supporters should be delighted.
