COMMENTARY
Many Everton fans have called on the club to sell winger Theo Walcott, and they’re exactly right to think that. His career has been a massive disappointment from a player who was selected to play for England at such a young age. His move to Everton was considered a step down from his Arsenal days, but there was no way he was going to get any better after starting his career at such a young age. And, as these Everton fans point out, that has been proven. Walcott scored for the Toffees on Sunday in their final Premier League game of the season – a 2-2 draw away to Tottenham – but there is just not enough consistency to warrant him staying at the club. If Everton are to move on from him this summer, the Blues need to sell him. Although they won’t get much money from a player who has declined massively in recent seasons, they must use whatever they get for him as part of a reinvestment in the team.
This is Futbol has picked out some of the best tweets from Everton fans after Walcott’s performance on Sunday.
No way, he’s gone off a cliff.

No time for him to go

Nope, use his 110k a week for a younger more consistent player. I’d use him, Lookman and cash for Zaha

Good today after a good cameo against United as well. There’s definitely a player in there, but like the majority of his career in general, the consistency just isn’t there. Let him go.

I’d love to say yes, cause I like him a lot, but…no. Can’t expect A list winger but we could really use a young and hungry kid who can play off Coleman. He’s improved 10 fold with Rich in front of him, can offer a lot to a young up and comer
