OPINION
Georgino Wijnaldum did not have the best of games against Wolves on Sunday. Even though Liverpool won 2-0 against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, they hardly looked that impressive, especially after Sadio Mane scored the winning goal in the first-half. Liverpool’s midfielder just was not at the races and Wijnaldum’s poor display was at the heart of that. Hopefully he can step his game up before the Champions League final on June 1. He was Liverpool’s hero in the 4-0 win against Barcelona on Tuesday night and Sunday’s performance against Wolves might have just been a bit of a return to reality for the Dutch international. He’s going to have to play a lot better against Tottenham in Madrid next month though, especially as their midfield has so many good players. Liverpool’s midfield is good, but not as good as Spurs’, so it will need everyone pulling together and playing the best football of their careers.
