OPINION
Jurgen Klopp probably wasn’t expecting to hand Jordan Henderson a major role against Barcelona, but the Liverpool captain was forced onto the pitch in the first-half after Naby Keita suffered an injury. As soon as he came on, Barca took control of the game as the Liverpool midfield became slightly weakened. Henderson has played well lately but he was not amazing against Barcelona in the 3-0 defeat at the Nou Camp on Wednesday night. It is understandable to see some Liverpool fans slamming the England international for his performance, but to start calling on Klopp to “get rid” of the midfielder is just ridiculous. Henderson has been brilliant for Liverpool lately and showed his touch of class in the first-half with an inch-perfect pass to Sadio Mane, who should have scored an away goal for the Reds. However those moments were too few and far between for Henderson, who will more than likely start against Barca in the second-leg at Anfield next week. These fans need to get behind the £140,000-a-week [Spotrac] ace, not call for his head.
