Lille centre-forward Yanis Bensaber has reportedly headed to Glasgow for a trial with Rangers.

The Daily Record reported via their live transfer blog on Thursday [12:55pm] that Bensaber, 19, was handed a chance to impress the Scottish giants by being played in the reserves’ 3-3 draw against Corby Town on Wednesday.

The former France Under-16 international managed to get himself on the scoresheet and it sure seems as though the Gers are eyeing up the young striker ahead of a potential summer switch to Ibrox.

Bensaber hails from the well-known youth academy at Lille.

Franck Ribery, Eden Hazard, Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Digne, Idrissa Gueye and Divock Origi are recent examples of player who have made the grade at Lille and have gone on to make a name for themselves on the biggest stages in world football.

Of course, not all players from Lille end up winning the World Cup and Champions League and playing in the Premier League, but Bensaber has still come through the ranks of an academy with some of the best facilities and best coaches in Europe.

He might not be ready for first team football in Scotland just yet but it is encouraging that he marked his trial game against Corby with a goal, alongside other impressive Ibrox youngsters Nathan Young-Coombes and Andy Dallas.

Bensaber should be a good signing for Rangers if they manage to get him and hopefully we will see him playing in the Scottish Premiership in the near future.
