To say that Izzy Brown has not lived up to expectation during his time at Leeds United would be an understatement of the highest order.

One first team appearance of just nine minutes from the bench is all the Elland Road faithful have seen of the Chelsea loanee this season and while he did join with a serious injury, there was definitely a lot more expected of the attacking midfielder.

With two, possibly three, games left to play for Marcelo Bielsa and his men this season in the shape of the play-offs, it seems unlikely that Brown is going to get much, if any, game time before the campaign comes to a close and his disappointing stint in Yorkshire comes to an end.

However, that does not mean he has not made an impression on those behind the scenes and Salim Lamrani, Marcelo Bielsa’s translator and trusted confidant, has posted a four word tweet which surely has fans baffled.

The senior figure has previously taken to his personal Twitter account to post photos of the Leeds stars along with nicknames such as Pablo ‘The Brain’ Hernandez and Gaetano ‘The Lion’ Berardi – but Brown’s is a confusing one.

He was given the moniker Izzy ‘The Sniper’ Brown – and only Lamrani will know what is meant by that.

It cannot be regarding his finishing ability in front of goal, can it? Seven Championship goals in 37 appearances in his fledgling career is hardly clinical, after all.

Could it be something to do with him coming out from hiding to do the damage? Perhaps, but it would be a shock to see him thrown into the first team again at this crucial stage of the season.

Whatever the meaning, it will surely have Leeds fans bamboozled after what has been a flop of a season for the maestro.
