BBC Sportsound pundit Tam McManus was blown away by the performance of Glen Kamara in Rangers’ 2-0 win against Old Firm rivals Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday and has claimed that the midfielder is looking like a bargain buy for the Gers.

Kamara, 23, has been in sensational form since swapping Dens Park for Ibrox in the January transfer window when Rangers signed the Finland international earlier than expected after originally agreeing a pre-contract deal.

The former Arsenal midfielder was yet again at his best in the Old Firm on Sunday, and that has led to massive praise from McManus.

“Steven Gerrard and the Rangers fans actually must be wishing this season wasn’t coming to an end,” he wrote on the Football Scotland website.

“Six straight wins, the link up between Defoe and Arfield really blossoming and Glen Kamara looking like the steal of the decade for £50k.”

Rangers were going to sign Kamara on a free transfer after striking a pre-contract agreement in January but the Glasgow giants ended up fastforwarding his arrival at Ibrox by coughing up a transfer fee worth £50,000.

That must be the best five-figure sum that chairman Dave King has spent at Rangers and he must be thrilled to see how such a small amount of his money has been able to sign up such a quality player.

King should be drooling over the form of Kamara because if he keeps up these performance, he stands to make Rangers either a massive profit if he moves on in the future or he can be the driving force behind winning a piece of silverware next season.

Him, Ryan Jack and Steven Davis have gelled together beautifully in the last few weeks and all of their amazing form culminated in a dominating display against Celtic on Sunday.

King will be wanting Steven Gerrard and director of football Mark Allen to strike more bargain buys like Kamara and exploit more players who have expiring contracts in the Scottish Premiership into making cash for the club.
