Many Everton supporters will surely agree with the suggestion that striker Cenk Tosun should be allowed to leave Goodison Park this summer.

Tosun was suggested by TalkSPORT as a player Everton should be considering selling during the summer transfer window, after the Turkish striker has started just ten games for Marco Silva’s side this season, with him now thought to be soon to be made surplus to requirements.

The 27-year-old arrived at Everton in January 2018 from Turkish side Besiktas for a fee of £27million, and he came to England in good form having registered 41 goals in 96 games in the Turkish top flight prior to the move, according to Sky Sports.

However, he has failed to live up to that form for Everton since his arrival at Goodison Park, managing just eight goals in 39 Premier League appearances, which gives him a goal return of just 0.21 per 90 minutes.

Tosun’s form has been even worse than that this season, with the striker scoring just three times in 25 Premier League games, although most of his appearances have come from the bench, as Silva preferred the likes of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front instead of the Turkey international at times.

Everton are now reportedly on the look out for another striker this summer, with Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson thought to a player who Silva’s side are looking at signing, according to The Sun.

That would leave Tosun even further down the pecking order at Everton, meaning the time might be right for Silva’s side to allow the 27-year-old to find a new club this summer.

However, it might be difficult to find a suitor who could afford to sign the striker, who earns £60,000-per-week at Everton [Source: Spotrac], and still has a contract until 2022.

Having saying that Tosun has still proven during his spell with Besiktas that he is able to score goals when given regular game time, which means other sides might be interested in taking a gamble on him.

It would probably be the best solution for both Everton and Tosun if he was to leave the club in the summer, and try and re-build his reputation at another club.

Given that the forward hasn’t delivered the goods, then many Everton fans will surely agree with talkSPORT over him needing to go.
