Everton look as though they have been handed a major boost in the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes and understandably, many fans on Twitter are absolutely thrilled with the news. According to Sky Sports via their live transfer blog on Friday [08:15am], Tottenham have ended their interested in the 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Goodison Park. The Daily Mail has reported that Everton are targetting a permanent move for Gomes and are now expected to push on and try to land the Portugal international. It’s not hard to see why Evertonians are delighted with this update, because Gomes was fantastic for them in the 2018/19 campaign as he made 29 appearances across all competitions. Marco Silva’s midfield looked so much better with him in the heart of it and if the Toffees can ensure they keep Gomes on for next season then they are bound to improve leaps and bounds.
