Leeds need a striker who can find the back of the net and guarantee 20-25 goals next season and Leeds fans think they’ve found him.

Former Leeds player Alf-Inge Håland’s son, Erling, became the first player to score nine goals in a single game at the Under-20s World Cup, as Norway beat Honduras 12-0.

Leeds “had a good look” at bringing the striker to Elland Road and actually made an offer last summer, according to Phil Hay, but he ended up signing for Red Bull Salzburg in a deal worth £4.5million.

Håland posted a tweet after the game, holding the match ball (he should have got three?!) and Leeds fans piled on to try and convince him his future should lie at Elland Road. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani had liked the tweet too.

The 18-year-old was born in Leeds but he’s under contract at Salzburg until 2023 and his value is likely to be on the rise.

However, he only made 10 appearances for his new side last season so a loan move could be possible.
