Everton attacker Yannick Bolasie gushed about Aston Villa forward Tammy Abraham after he received an award for his goalscoring record this season.

The Toffees winger, who spent some of the current season on loan at the Villans, was in attendance of the Villans 2-1 loss to Norwich City on Sunday and shared footage of Abraham on his Instagram story being giving his special accolade at half-time.

Bolasie dubbed Abraham unbelievable and shared that you needed to be ‘happy’ for your ‘guys’ before tagging the attacker’s personal Instagram.

“Unbelievable, be happy for your guys,” wrote Bolasie on his personal Instagram account.

OPINION

It was nice to see Aston Villa recognise Abraham for scoring 25 goals this season, which according to the club’s official website makes him the first player to bag that amount since the 1976/77 season, and it was even nicer to see Bolasie gush about his former teammate. While the winger’s loan spell at Villa Park was suddenly ended in January, with him returning to Goodison only to go straight back out on loan to Anderlecht, it’s good to see him keeping an interest in the Villans. Bolasie scored two goals, and assisted five, in 21 Championship outings this season and played a part in the Villans having enough points to reach the play-offs. While the winger didn’t do as well as you would have expected, he should still be appreciated by supporters. As for Abraham, the Villans will surely be hoping to secure the forward’s services on a permanent basis from Chelsea in the summer. The English attacker has wowed at Villa Park this season and you feel that it would be better for him to be at the Villans permanently rather than facing an uphill battle trying to get in the Chelsea’s squad.
