OPINION

Mikael Lustig had shown improvement under Neil Lennon’s leadership and the added competition from January signing Jeremy Toljan, but the Celtic right-back had a shocker against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday and it’s no shock that he went off at half-time. It just looked as though Lustig, 32, could not hack playing against Ryan Kent and decided to fake an injury to get taken off by Lennon. The Swedish defender has been woeful at times in the last few seasons but it will be hard to find a performance as bad as that by him in the green and white hoops. Toljan was not much better than Lustig when he came on but at least he had a bit more pace to be able to cope with Kent. Maybe Lennon should never have started Lustig for this game but you would have thought that someone with that much experience would have worked out how to defend against players quicker than him by now.
